Judge - Kristy Steeves

KAS 0771

Kristy Steeves graduated from Indiana University with a double major in journalism and political science. While in college she took two photojournalism classes and absolutely loved it. Despite her love for photography she pursued her goal of becoming a news reporter. She worked as a television journalist for 25 years. During that time she won four prestigious Emmy Awards for her creative storytelling, including news reports on a 9/11 rescue team at the World Trade Center, an in depth look at the life of drug dealers, and a police SWAT team drill competition. Judge - Mark Stevens

Mark started with photography as a way to relax, to slow down, and to see the world in a new way.  He enjoys capturing the world around him, whether he is close to home, or traveling around the country. With more time after he retired in 2007, he started to experiment with new techniques, different cameras, and digital software. He is generous in sharing his knowledge with other photographers. His participation in several organizations, including Professional Photographers of America, has challenged his skills and let him develop in new ways.

Mark's success in image competition includes: NHPPA 2014, 2015, and 2016 photographer of the year, and PPA's IPC platinum photographer of the year in 2013, 2014, 2015, and 2016.  Mark also has a Grand Imaging Award, a Kodak Gallery Award, and a Fuji Masterpiece award to his credit.
